Biography
Dr. Azam Badar Khan is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive experience in trauma surgery, joint replacement, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and complex fracture management. With advanced postgraduate training in Orthopaedics and international fellowship experience in the United States and Russia, he has developed broad expertise in the management of traumatic and degenerative orthopaedic conditions.
Dr. Khan completed his Master of Surgery (M.S.) in Orthopaedics from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, India, following his medical degree from Nalanda Medical College, Magadh University. His professional training includes extensive exposure to major trauma, polytrauma management, fracture fixation, joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic procedures, spinal surgery, and deformity correction.
His international training includes an AO Trauma Fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, and a fellowship in Total Hip Replacement and Total Knee Replacement at the Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Saint Petersburg. He has also completed specialized training in arthroscopy, trauma management, fracture treatment, and advanced life-support courses.
Dr. Khan has extensive clinical experience in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, including emergency trauma care and elective orthopaedic procedures. His professional experience includes working in major tertiary-care and specialist orthopaedic institutions in India and Bahrain, where he gained extensive exposure to complex trauma, joint replacement, arthroscopy, spinal procedures, and reconstructive surgery.
He is particularly experienced in knee and hip arthroplasty, complex fracture fixation, sports-related knee and shoulder conditions, arthroscopic procedures, and the management of complicated trauma cases. His academic contributions include co-authorship of a chapter on Mobile-Bearing Total Knee Arthroplasty, international poster presentations, and presentations on knee replacement and trauma-related topics.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Khan has been actively involved in medical education, professional conferences, community healthcare initiatives, and public awareness programmes focused on knee health. He is the founder of the “Let’s Walk Again” campaign, which promotes knee-health awareness and supports free medical and surgical knee camps.
