Biography
Dr. Michel Jabbour is a Full Professor and Consultant Urologist with more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of urology.
He previously served as the President of the Medical Committee, Chairman of the Surgery Department, and Chief of the Urology Division at Saint George University Hospital, Balamand University Faculty of Medicine, Beirut, Lebanon.
After completing his medical and specialty studies at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Lebanon, Dr. Jabbour moved to the USA, where he earned the American Endo-Urological Society Fellowship after training with Professor Arthur Smith at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, in 1998. He then relocated to Paris, where he obtained an AFSA degree in Urology and worked as an Assistant at Saint Louis Hospital, Paris, under the guidance of Professor Alain Le Duc. His primary focus during this time was on Oncologic Urology and Neuro-Urology, and he served as a lecturer at the School of Surgery of the APHP, Paris.
Dr. Jabbour returned to Lebanon in 2000, where he began teaching at Saint Joseph and Balamand Universities, while also affiliating for clinical work at Hotel Dieu and Saint George University Hospitals (SGHUMC). In 2005, he became a full-time faculty member at Saint George University Hospital, where he introduced and developed Percutaneous Surgery, Laparoscopy, and modern Endo-Urology techniques. He established both himself and SGHUMC as a national and regional reference center for Stone Disease and Percutaneous Surgery, receiving referrals from Lebanon and neighboring countries such as Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and the Gulf.
Throughout his career, Dr. Jabbour organized numerous workshops on Percutaneous Surgery and flexible ureteroscopies at SGHUMC for urologists from across the Arab world. He was also invited to give lectures, run workshops, and perform live-transmitted surgeries in several regional countries. In addition to Endo-Urology, Dr. Jabbour has maintained a large clinical focus on Uro-Oncology, Male Infertility, and Erectile Dysfunction.
On the academic front, since his appointment as Chief of the Urology Division in 2013, Dr. Jabbour has worked tirelessly to elevate the Urology Division, making it one of the top academic divisions for both students and residents. He achieved this through optimizing OR mentoring, bedside teaching, clinic attendance, staff coordination, Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, and oral presentations.
Dr. Jabbour has been involved in numerous research projects, both in the clinical and basic science fields, often in collaboration with researchers from the Faculty of Health Sciences. These efforts have resulted in approximately 43 publications in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals, along with hundreds of oral and poster presentations at international medical congresses.
In 2010, Dr. Jabbour earned an Executive MBA in Health Management from Sorbonne and Dauphine Universities in Paris, France, in a combined program with Saint Joseph University, Beirut.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Jabbour was appointed Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Saint George University Hospital in October 2017. This, coupled with his role as President of the Medical Committee since 2014, has allowed him to play key administrative and organizational roles within both the university and the hospital.
Dr. Jabbour joined CMC Dubai, as a Consultant Urologist and Head of Department in February 2025.
In this capacity, he runs a state-of-the-art medical and surgical department, covering all aspects of urology, including Prostate Diseases, Erectile Dysfunction, Infertility, Stone Disease, Female Urology and Incontinence, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Cancer Management.
