Robotic Simple Prostatectomy is a robotic-assisted surgical procedure that treats extreme enlargement of the prostate (BPH). The procedure is recommended when other methods, such as transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) or in-office procedures are ineffective or unsuitable for treating urinary conditions.

At CMC Dubai our Robotic Surgery team have performed thousands of robotic urological procedures and earned a reputation for being the best surgeons for robotic simple prostatectomy in Dubai. This procedure is mostly suited for individuals with substantial prostate enlargement, severe blockage, or urinary retention issues.

Pre-Op Guidelines for Robotic Simple Prostatectomy

Prior to the procedure, the patient is given guidelines to follow, which will lower any possible risks. These include but not limited to stopping any medication which is a blood thinner.

The Procedure

During the procedure, which is performed under general anesthesia, carbon dioxide gas is used to inflate the abdominal cavity to create space for the surgical instruments. keyhole incisions are made in the abdomen to allow the insertion of the surgical instruments, including an endoscope, which is a tube with a camera projected on a screen to give the surgeon a visual view as he operates.

An incision is made to the bladder to access the inner prostate surface and a circular incision is made around the area where the prostate meets the bladder in which the extra prostate tissue is cored out in one piece.

A catheter is then placed to enable the passage of urine and the bladder is closed. Before discharge, the catheter is removed.

Benefits of Robotic Simple Prostatectomy
