Dr. Purnima is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist with over 33 years of experience in her field in 3 countries, where she is committed to providing personalised care plans within excellent standards of care.

Treating patients from all over world at Clemenceau Hospital Dubai and speaking at international Conferences Dr Sweetman  is constantly improving and educating on women’s health issues globally.

She graduated from Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur University in 1990.

She post-graduated with a diploma in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1991 and practiced in India till 1995.

In 1995 her career progression took her to the Sultanate of Oman until 2002.

Moreover, she has a diploma in the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Health from the UK in 2008.

From 2004 till 2023, she practiced in the UK as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist.

Before starting her career in the UK, she attended as clinical observer in Urogynecology and Infertility in 2002.
Between 2013 to 2023 she was the Lead for:

• Labour ward 
• Clinical Audit 
• Perinatal mortality and Morbidity
• Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology

In August 2015, Dr. Purnima was a principle investigator in the research project on Iodine uptake in first and third trimester of pregnancy.

In 2005 she became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

In addition, Dr. Purnima was Awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2017.

In July 2023 Dr. Purnima was invited as speaker at the 8TH ICGO Congress at Lisbon.
