This is a specialty in treating gynecologic conditions that might require surgeries including ovarian cysts, endometriosis, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, uterine polyps, excessive uterine bleeding, removal of uterus or ovaries, surgical correction of pelvic organ prolapse. Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery allows for the treatment of the most complex pathologies with the least pain, smallest scars, quicker recovery and best outcomes for patients, eliminating the need for traditional open surgery.

Dr Nawfal finished his training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) in Obstetrics and Gynecology and then pursued further training in Minimally Invasive, advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic gynecologic surgery in the United States at Henry Ford Health System in Michigan, a pioneering institution in Minimally Invasive surgery.

He is a certified expert robotic surgeon; he is a trainer for other surgeons on the robotic platform and started the first robotic gynecologic surgery practice in Lebanon in 2012.

He also specializes in advanced laparoscopic and single port laparoscopic surgeries, performing the most complex and advanced surgeries in a minimally invasive way, allowing for better results and quicker recovery for patients.

Dr Nawfal is a Fellow of the American college of Surgeons (FACS) and Board member of the Lebanon chapter of the American college of surgeons.
