Biography
Dr. Hamo Kenawy is a German board-certified orthopaedic and trauma surgeon specialising exclusively in shoulder surgery. He brings around 20 years of surgical experience, including more than 11 years dedicated to shoulder surgery in Germany.
Before relocating to Dubai, Dr. Kenawy served as Chief of Shoulder Surgery and Head of the Shoulder Centre Thuringia, Germany. His clinical experience includes advanced shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement surgery and complex revision procedures.
After qualifying as a specialist in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery in Germany, Dr. Kenawy completed advanced subspecialty training in shoulder surgery and obtained expert certifications from both the DVSE and AGA.
He holds the DVSE Expert Certificate in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, the highest level of individual certification offered by the D-A-CH Association for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He also holds the AGA Shoulder Expert designation from the Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery, Switzerland.
Dr. Kenawy’s shoulder replacement practice in Germany received the DVSE Gold Endoprosthesis Seal for three consecutive years, in 2024, 2025 and 2026. The Gold level represents the highest level within this certification programme and recognises specialist qualifications, surgical experience and systematic clinical outcome reporting.
His clinical approach is focused on individualised treatment, with the aim of relieving pain, restoring shoulder function and helping patients return to their everyday activities and sports.
