Dr Anthony Ghosn has graduated in 2005 from Saint Joseph University of Beirut in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine with subspecialty in cardio-thoracic and vascular anesthesia. Since then, he has been working and training in several university hospitals and reference centers in Lebanon and France, the latest being Notre Dame des Secours University Hospital in Beirut Lebanon since 2009.
As an intensivist, he has been managing high- risk patients in the intensive care unit and cardiac care and surgical units (ICU-CCU-CSU), and as an anesthesiologist, he has accompanied neonate, pediatric and adult patients through their surgeries from preoperative assessment to safely delivering the most suitable anesthesia in the O.R and post-operative pain management.
Dr A.Ghosn has major experience in:
⁃ Cardio-thoracic and vascular surgeries anesthesia, as he has worked in reference centers affiliated to Hotel Dieu de France Hospital and in the Clinique Française du Levant- Beirut.
⁃ Obstetrics and Gynecology patients, as he has worked in level 3 maternity in Lebanon and France, handling complex medical conditions and obstetric complications of critically ill pregnant women and fetuses.
⁃ Polytrauma cases (holder of ATLS certification according to the standards established by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma)
⁃ Ultrasound guided Loco-regional anesthesia (Saint Antoine Hospital- Paris)
On the academic level, he is a teacher at the medical faculty of USEK university in Lebanon where he’s been training medical interns and residents. He has more than 20 medical articles, poster and oral communications for which he has been hosted in local and international congresses in Europe and the United States.
On the community level, he has always been very active in volunteering and non-profit medical activities, the latest being during the COVID pandemic. He was coordinating the crisis cell in Northern Lebanon from awareness campaigns and testing to on call on patients support and treatment thanks to volunteers and donators.
He’s a member of the Lebanese Society of Anesthesia and the Lebanese society of critical care medicine. Member of the national Covid 19 Steering committee and a member of the SFAR (French Society of Anesthesia and Critical Care).
