Biography

Dr. Haitham Sawalmeh is a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon with over 12 years of experience in general, laparoscopic, bariatric, colorectal, and trauma surgeries. He graduated with the Jordanian Board in General Surgery and has extensive experience in both elective and emergency surgeries.

He is proficient in a wide range of open and laparoscopic procedures including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, laparotomy, bowel resection and anastomosis, Hartmann’s procedure, laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and minor surgical procedures.

As a member of the gastro-surgical oncology team, Dr. Sawalmeh has contributed to the development of workflows and protocols to ensure patient-centric care. He has also been actively involved in supervising residents and preparing surgical oncology cases for multidisciplinary team discussions.

In the field of Proctology, he has developed expertise in the management of anal conditions such as hemorrhoidectomy, THD, fistulectomy, fistula laser closure (FiLaC), and sphincterotomy.
